Estimate Process

Why am i not receiving emails for estimate, updates, and notifications?
Communication is very important to us. We email updates and notifications about upcoming services, schedule delays, weather delays, invoices, etc often. If you are not receiving emails your spam filters could be blocking us because all of our communication comes from a CRM software system. Some filters see us as spam. The other problem we see is you have accidentally unsubscribed from our marketing email list.

If you are having any issues please call us today at 864.275.2039 or email us at [email protected].
Are estimates free?
YES ALL estimates are FREE.
Projects have free onsite estimates, but have a $80 written proposal fee. To learn more contact us today.
To get more information on pricing and services call us today at 864.275.2039 or email us.
What is a written proposal fee?
While our onsite estimate for projects are free, we do have an $80 written proposal fee. Our Project Specialist will quickly set up a meeting with you and do a free onsite 30 minute consultation to learn about what your needs are and what you want to accomplish.

For most of our projects our Project Specialist will be able to provide a verbal estimate price while onsite with you. This is a rough price or price range based on the information and goals you have given us, but it could vary.

If after our free consultation and verbal estimate you would like to move forward, we have implemented a written proposal fee. If you are shopping several companies for project quotes, you may choose to accept our verbal estimate and not move forward with a written proposal fee at this point. If you move forward with us to do the project the written proposal fee will come off the price off the project.

If you request a written proposal for your project, our Project Specialist will spend an additional 1-2+ hours meeting with our project foremen to confirm the estimated budgeted time, contact our material suppliers, and tentatively structure deliveries. Many of our large projects take 8+ hours to finalize with our clients, suppliers, and foreman. Since the price calculated during a free consultation is an estimated cost only, an $80 written proposal fee compensates for our team’s time spent solidifying the final price of your project and creating a formal written agreement for your signature of acceptance.

All Outdoors is a small locally owned business committed to serving our clients well and keeping our team at full-staff (especially now, amidst uncertain times), and our written proposal fee has become a successful way for us to compensate for the hours our experts spend compiling thorough project quotes (after a free on-site consultation, free verbal estimate, and the “green light” to proceed with a written proposal under the mutual assumption that the client will be choosing us for the project)
How quickly can you come to my property for an estimate?
We can normally give an estimate within 24-48 hours depending on what services you are wanting.  If you are wanting a service package, mowing, or fertilization we can normally measure your property online and give you a price within 5 minutes of getting your information.  To get more information on pricing and services call us today at 864.275.2039, message us, or email us.

How often to you sharpen your mower blades?
Our mower blades are sharpened daily to ensure your grass is getting the best cut possible.  It is important to have blades sharpened daily to cut the grass clean.  Sharpe blades will promote healthy growth and give your yard a clean look.
should i Do Core aeration and do you offer Core Aeration?
Yes, we recommend that warm season turfs such as Bermuda and Zoysia have core aeration completed every year between May-July. DO NOT AERATE in the fall or winter. If you aerate in the fall or winter it could increased weed growth and/or cause root damage that will result it dead spots in the yard in the spring.

Yes, we recommend that cool season turfs such as Fescue have core aeration and overseeding every year between September-October.
Why do i have weeds in my mulch beds or Pine NEedle Beds?
If you have mulch you need to replenish your mulch at least once a year to minimize weed growth. If you do not replenish your mulch once a year you could have lots of weeds in your mulch beds. The soil naturally wants to protect itself, so if nothing is present weeds will grow easily.

If you have pine needles you need to replenish your pine needles at least once a year to minimize weed growth, but could need it twice a year. If you do not replenish your pine needles once a year you could have lots of weeds in your beds. The soil naturally wants to protect itself, so if nothing is present weeds will grow easily.
What is different about your COMPANY then other companies?

  • We have excellent customer service and give 24/7 access to contact us by providing a client portal where you can update your information, make payments, and create service request.
  • We offer email alerts for schedule changes due to weather.
  • We offer same day each week service for recurring clients.

What is the Proper height to mow my grass?
Mow height is depended on the type of grass that you have. Fescue, Bermuda, and Zoysia are the top 2 turf types in our area.  We always mow at the recommended height. The temperature, time of year, mowing frequency turf condition all factor into the problem height.  To get more information on pricing and services call us today at 864.275.2039, message us, or email us.
What should i do to get rid of dog pee spots in the yard?
The best answer is the heavily water the area and try to train your dog not to pee in the yard.
Do you bag the lawn clippings?
We typically do not bag lawn clipping, but will bag the lawn if needed. All of our teams keep a bagging lawn mower on their trucks. The team leader will make a call based on turf height, type of turf, weather conditions, etc on if bagging is needed.  It is much healthier for your grass for us to mulch the grass back into the lawn.  This provides key nutrients back into your lawn resulting in a more luxurious and healthy lawn.  This is another reason why we sharpen our mower blades daily.  If mulching is done correctly you will not be able to tell.  We will not leave grass clumps and grass clipping all over your lawn.
How often should I water my lawn & when should i water?
Your lawn should be watered 1 to 1.5 inches per week.  It is better to water your lawn 3 times a week versus watering everyday.  A good rule of thumb is to water each area of your lawn for 15-30 minutes 3 times a week.  If you water your lawn every single day the lawn will be shallow-rooted and not well established, causing fungus, disease, and drought to set in very quickly.  It is best to water your lawn between 4am-10am.  Watering in mid day heat can cause your grass to burn and water to evaporate too quickly before reaching the roots and watering at night can cause fungus and diseases to pop up.  Please don't water on your scheduled service day.
Why do you not offer Biweekly mowing?
For the health of the turf is recommended not to cut more than 1/3 of the blade of grass off at a time. Cutting more the 1/3 of the blade off can cause damage and promote weed growth. We pride ourselves on offering maintaining a healthy and well maintained turf. For the reason it is unhealthy to mow the grass on a biweekly schedule.
Do you maintain Fruit, Vegetable, and Herb Gardens or garden beds?
No we do not maintain any gardens or garden boxes. Garden Boxes are not part of normal routine maintenance. If you plan to have a fruit, vegetable or herb garden in your yard please notify the team right away. We are not responsible for killing gardens that we are not notified about. We will not maintain areas that are used for gardens. All garden areas need to be maintained by the homeowner. If you would like a garden box or garden removed we can help with that.
What is bed Maintenance?
Bed Maintenance will be ongoing throughout the year to maintain a clean appearance with minimal weeds, leaves, sticks, and debris. We are  not guaranteeing all weeds will be removed every visit. We will spray and pull weeds at every visit. Weeds can pop up between visits. Bed Maintenance does not include the removal of any ivy, vines, pine needles, mulch, shrubs, etc. This is for regular weekly maintenance of the beds. We can provide one time clean up servies.

Yes we do. We offer 8 application programs for Fescue, Bermuda, and Zoysia yards. We also offer other services related to turf care such as fungcide treatments, disease treatments, army worm treatments, fire ant control, aerating, overseeding. and so much more. After i sign up for your fertilization and weed control program, how long will it be until my yard is awesome?
Generally speaking, it will take your lawn the same amount of time to recover and get in great condition as it took to get in its current condition.
That means that one application (and sometimes even one full year of service) may not turn your lawn into a golf course, BUT each application serves a purpose and provides healing treatment to your soil and grass. It is important to follow all recommendation and keep treatment plan ongoing if you want the best results.
Will my lawn be 100% weed free all the time?
It may be normal to see some weeds pop up in your yard throughout the seasons, especially in areas around sidewalk cracks, driveways and beds. When you edge the cracks of driveways, sidewalks, and beds it disturbs the soil and can cause weed seeds to come to the top of the soil and germinate. We will do our best to minimize any problems, but if you are seeing a problem or concerns please send us photos and contact us right away so we correct the problem.
Some weeds are not covered in our normal rounds, such as purple violet, dallas grass, nutsedge, etc. If those weeds appear a special treatment could be needed.
Why is round up not working to keep weeds gone?
Round up will kill the current weeds that are present, but will not stop future weeds from germinating.
What is different about your COMPANY then other companies?
  • Communication is our biggest differentiator in the fertilization and weed control business. You will know when we are coming, who your technician is, what we did while at your property, and if you have any problems. (You can even call and speak with the technician if you need too!)
  • We also do soil samples throughout the year so you are getting the best possible treatment plan. We will notify you of any concerns or issues.
  •  We have a custom chemical blend just for our company and the Upstate turfs so you are getting the best possible turf care. (WE ONLY BUY THE VERY BEST CHEMICALS ON THE MARKET, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED) Many of clients say they see results after just 1 treatment.
Is Core aeration important and do you OFFER CORE AERATION?
Yes, we recommend that warm season turfs such as Bermuda and Zoysia have core aeration completed every year between May-July. DO NOT AERATE in the fall or winter. If you aerate in the fall or winter it could increased weed growth and/or cause root damage that will result it dead spots in the yard in the spring.

Yes, we recommend that cool season turfs such as Fescue have core aeration and overseeding every year between September-October.

Landscape & Hardscape Install

Do you offer an warranies on landscape or hardscape installs?
Yes we do! Check out our warranties page here to find out more information.
Do you put landscape fabric under mulch?
No, we highly recommend not using landscape fabric under your mulch. Simply put, landscape fabric will cause more harm than good. The biggest reason we are asked to do this service is because of weeds. The fact is that it will cause weed growth to increase and get worse, not make it better. Weeds will germinate in the mulch and root into the landscape fabric making the weeds hard to remove. Second, landscape fabric blocks beneficial microorganisms for getting into the soil to provide rich nutrient into the soil. Third, the fabric will blocs earthworms from getting into the soil and reaching the surface which help to aerate the soil. This keeps the soil from becoming compact and unhealthy. Fourth, it prevents the mulch from decaying and providing nutrient back into the soil. Instead the mulch decays on top of the fabric providing no nutrient to the soil and surrounding plants. Fifth, it is a nightmare for replanting and longevity. At some point you will have to remove decaying mulch and ripped up landscape fabric to make your beds look night again.
How far in advance should i start planning for my dream project to be completed?
Generally  we recommend starting 6-9 months before you want your project completed. If your project has lots of design elements this can take time to fine tune and get the way you want. After you accept your estimate we are typically booked out 4-6 months before we can start your project. We have also found that during this crazy economy it is taking longer to get materials, sometimes up to 3 months for custom material. We want you to have your project completed when you want, so plan early to get the best results.
